Fri 21 / 7.30pm-10.30pm: MUSIC

The Revd Max Ripple of Deaf School fame will entertain you.

According to much respected music writer Paul du Noyer: “In the whole history of Liverpool music, two bands matter most: one is The Beatles and the other is Deaf School. Their impact on the City is with us to this day.”

Emerging from the Liverpool College of Art as winners of the Melody Maker Rock Contest in 1975, they made three LPs between 1976 and 1978 and were one of the most popular live acts of their time.  The fact that they were invited to record three sessions with John Peel at the BBC is testimony to their quality.
